So all this past week I was so excited to get a new blog up on the new wroq.com web site. I wanted to write about how great the new Site is and thank our Web Mistress Tracy West for all her hard work putting it together. I wanted to talk about the new video’s we shot in the past week just to have them ready to be on the new site. I couldn’t wait for you all to see our trip back stage with Cody Dickinson of  Hill Country Revue, and the North Mississippi All stars, and Itrip to Smileys cafe’ to show what great things are happening in the local music scene these days with our good Buddy Charles Hedgepath. And I wanted you all to see our swap a ride video’s we are shooting with D&D Motors in Greer.

      But a funny thing happened, I couldn’t log in to this site for our blogs. I had been trying for days, got our web mistress to help me, then corporate got involved,seems everyone could get into the site but ME!  This leads me to the whole point of this blog. As much as they have made things easier and more fun for so many peoples lives, Computers still piss me off sometimes. Cause not only was I about to loose my mind dealing with why i couldn’t log in to this blog page But I had another issue happen with computers at my home over the weekend. Oh by the way the reason I couldn’t log in here was the web address had changed by like one symbol and nobody had pointed that out to me.

     Now at home I was having trouble connecting to the internet on the new high speed connect I had installed at home. I tried over and over to connect but it kept blocking me from connecting. I finally spent an hour waiting for this certain companies tech support people to come to my rescue. And finally bingo it worked they firgure out my settings on MY computer were keeping me from connecting, and i got it fixed.  Now for the next several minutes I was so happy and excited that I was back on the internet at home. Then a window pops up telling me my browser would work better if I updated to the new explorer 8. something or other and so of course I clicked and started to load that into my computer. I took awhile and I sat there the whole time thinking how great this will be having that on my computer and I’ll be all upgraded etc, and then… Bam! Now the S.O.B. won’t work at all, I can’t connect to anything the Tech support people at my provider can’t help me and so now here i am on my own with no computer skills trying to find my way back to the internet. GOD I HATE THESE THINGS. But man I do love palying on it when it does work. So please enjoy our new web page and all the new things we have for you guys to check out. and check out the new web camera in the rock 101 studios! You know Stoney and I love the camera so watch and enjoy,now Larry well he is up a little early to see the fun in the camera!

There has been a ton of discourse on the recent resignation of Sara Palin and what her plans are.

Here, in my opinion, is a better question. Who the hell cares?  If she is the best the Republicans have to offer then the party is dead.  If she is supposed to represent new ideas, or a better direction, then let me shuffle on off to a 3rd party.

I mean she is attractive but as far as being presidentail material, lets be honest….she ain’t.

Last Saturday was a huge success for the great folks at Laurens Electric.  They raised a bunch of money for their charity and thanks to over 700 riders the upstate got to see some fine looking rides.

Welcome to the FIRST blog writtien on the ALL NEW WROQ Blog!  don’t get your hopes up. After today it will be the same old drivel wrapped up in a hot new website.

Since you are seeingthis you hae made at least part fo the trip thru the new site, but you owe it to yourself to take a moment and explore all the features.

1.        One of the most comprehensive lists of concerts anywhere.  It’s now split between four areas so you can see the concerts in Atlanta separate from those in Charlotte.  The list updates all the time.  And there are links to those venues who use Ticketmaster to purchase tickets.

2.       Bios… The made us answer a bunch of new questions, and naturally I was very serious in my reponse.

3.       Programs… all on one page for esier location.

4.       The Tune Genie is on the homepage and you can click to get butt loads of information about artists.

6.       The ever popular Eye Candy, Classic Rock Report and the Poll can be found on the bottom portion of the site.

7.       Videos.  You’ll notice that we are really showcasing videos.  This is a secton that will entertain you every time you drop by.

co  Community/charity events. Look for this area to grow as we cover what going on in your backyard.

9.       The games can now be found under the WorkForce.  You will  have to login to play the games and enjoy the new technology/

10.   We’re doing more and more online contests so we want you to enjoy the Rock 101 contests no matter where you are or how you hear us.
