Roger Waters & The Wall LIVE

Posted in: Uncategorized

One our great listeners Daniel Smith flew up to Pittsburgh to see  Roger Waters  ”The Wall Live”  If you’re going to the show in Atlanta November 18, you WON’T we disappointed!

Rock & Roll fans. This concert has it all. Great music. Giant puppets. Flying pigs. Stunning lighting and visual effects. And, it has The Wall. This concert is a must see for any music fan. From the first note of ”In the Flesh” to the final note of “Outside the Wall”, Roger Waters and his band bring this classic album to life.

The band was awesome, the sound was great, and Roger still hit all the high notes.

Thanks Daniel, Look forward to the show November 18th!

To blog or not to blog

Posted in: Uncategorized

You know sometimes you just can’t seem to find anything that compells you to write a blog. Even though it’s part of my job and I enjoy doing them, sometimes there’s just nothing there.

Then as you begin to write about nothing stuff starts to pop in your head. How much I still can’t stand Jimmy Carter and hearing he’s in the hospital doesn’t draw and empathy from me.

Or how I just can’t believe how lousy most NFL kickers seem to be this year. Oh  and how the hell did Mike McCarthy, coach of the Greenbay Packers think he was going to have a chance in hell to get the ball back and score and maybe tie the game up in overtime by stopping the Bears from scoring ? Let them score save the clock then give your team a chance to get the ball and tie it up for gods sakes!

And how about people from Ohio, I thought it was just a Michigan thing, but I met alot of people here in the upstate who don’t like Ohio people either! I mean for a native Michigander well it something we are born with, but hey Buckeye you even annoy people in a state that has no direct reason not to like you, whats that all about. I mean people like New Yorkers better than you around here!

Great, another gunman Shooting wildly on the University of Texas, lousy shot though didn’t hit anyone then killed himself. better out come then the last time somebody started shooting on that campus. Only in a state where they shoot bullets in the air on New years and someone gets killed every year! WAIT that happens here too. Some of you might remember how a bullet went thru my house nearly hitting my head a few years ago. I wonder what Karma did to the guy who shot that stray bullet.

Oh great the company that makes the drug used for lethal injections can’t get the chemicals needed to make more, so executions all acrossed the country are being put on hold! WTF Has any body heard of firing squads? Send all the inmates to Utah where it’s a legal choice and get to work !

Did I mention I still hate the Cowboys, Vikings and Steelers? Well I do

And I’m really not a big fan of relationships anymore! Women are just to damn hard to get along with, in a “live in” situation. I’m sure I’m just getting to old and set in my ways, but damn you females are….well anyway.

Ok that felt good got a few things off my chest and now I can get on with my day. I’ll check back in when I’m stewing over something else or if I have nothing to write about either!

Leonard Skinner, the high school gym teacher that inspired Lynyrd Skynyrd name, died on Monday (September 20th) after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The Florida Times-Union reported that Skinner was 77. Skinner’s name has passed into rock folklore as being the gym teacher at Jacksonville Florida’s Robert E. Lee High School who sent future Skynyrd members Bob Burns and Gary Rossington to the assistant principal’s office due to the length of their hair.
According to legend, the musicians, who were in a band called the One Percent, had several running jokes about Skinner and eventually re-named the band Lynyrd Skynyrd as a sarcastic mispronunciation of the hard-nosed gym teacher’s name. In later years, Skinner defended his action of throwing the future rockers out of his class, stating: “It was against the school rules. I don’t particularly like long hair on men, but again, it wasn’t my rule.

Give me a break! But….

Posted in: Uncategorized

So a young lady wearing a short  skirt, a tiny tank top that says” hottie” on it strolls by a construction area, what do you think would happen. A woman walks into the office with super tight slacks and top with the buttons open so far you can’t help but notice her cleavage. Do you think the men and for that matter the women too wouldn’t be at least checking her out or talking about and yes maybe saying something kind of suggestive? So when a woman in Tight and I mean tight jeans strolls in to a NFL locker room after already parading around the practice field With breasts practically popping out of her top, who is a former Miss whatever, a bikini model, and a “reporter” for one of those “Sex sells” Mexican TV stations, what in the world do you think might happen? OMG (as we say these days) Ladies let me say this as clear as I can. WHEN YOU DRESS UP AND SHOW OFF YOUR BODY TO THE WORLD, WHY DO YOU DO IT? HMMMMMM? Do you want to get a “mans” attention or not. Doesn’t it feel good to be complimented on how good you look by your man or some guy who passes by? Now look, I know and all women also know this too, some guys are just PIGS! And stupid cavemen, so sure some guys cross the line and I’m not going to make any excuses that is wrong in every way! But when Inez Sainz went into the Jets Locker room dressed like that, how could she not know she’s draw attention and some comments? I mean really! Now look, the Jets and the coaching staff are grown men who should know better than to be that rude to the existent they were to her”allegadly” , but for her to turn around and try to get public sympathy for what happened when no one touched her, nothing “lude” was said and she herself had said it wasn’t that big of a deal, well it’s not just an insult to the public, but it’s a slap in the face of all “REAL” female sports reporters! This issue dates back to the days when the first female sports reporter walked into a Houston Oilers locker room back in the 70’s. You as a woman are walking into a men’s locker room for god sakes these guys are taking showers dressing and are MEN, so please tell me what the difference here is? It’s all about being appropriate in the work place, that’s all. Men, we need to watch what we say and show respect and woman please be a serious sports caster with real questions and dress for the work place not for going out to a night club to pick up men! It’s a simple solution to a problem as old as time that will always be around, it’s as simple as Adam and Eve! Man lets be real and stop all this BS. And by the way did you see how she was dressed on FOX news last night talking about this whole thing?

What do you mean handcuffs are NOT on the “Prohibited Items List.”

As for what you’re not allowed to carry on … the list includes, billy clubs, brass knuckles, kubatons, nightsticks, nunchakus, dynamite, flares, cattle prods, drills and gas torches.

Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?

Posted in: Uncategorized

For the past few months I have struggled with understanding just how much debt the current administration has loaded on us.

When you get in billions it means nothing.  Hell, I have problems understanding millions much less the level of red ink we are swimming in.”

Today I found a method of comparing the spending and debt obligation.

Consider ALL of the combined debt from EVERY President from George Washington up to and including Ronald Reagan.  Within that would be all the monies for two world wars, the civil war, Korea, Viet Nam, and the Great Depression. Take that amount for the history of the country.  Now consider that is the same number of dollars spent by President Obama in EIGHTEEN MONTHS

Welcome to the new era of “hope and change.”
