Well, I received a late night tour of the new Greenville Hospital Systems Greer Campus in the ER room on Thursday night, let me tell you, it is nice in there but it doesn’t look anything like you see on Grey’s Anatomy. I had a little bit of a scare with some chest and arm pains that thank God turned out to be just a scare.

As you can see in my ER portrait, I am wired for sound plus they gave a lovely trophy for being such a good patient. Moments after the picture was taken I was whisked off to my new home for the night, by ambulance, (the helicopter was being used by somebody more important I guess) to room 4077 at the main GHS, I would have taken more pictures but my photographer (wife) was not very cooperative and all she would think of was my well being and didn’t give a damn what picture angle I wanted.
Once I got settled at 2am, the wife tucked me in and kissed me good night and went home to take care of the dogs. The dogs were just happy because they got the whole use of the bed! J Just as I dose off about 3:30am this little lady comes in the room to tell me “I come to take your EGK, OK…” And proceeds to rip my chest hair out because the electrical thingies weren’t the right ones. Fifteen minutes later, the bloodsuckers came in for a pint, so they could do a test. All in all, I thing I got about 3 hours of sleep before the Nuclear stress test. This test consisted of me on a tread mill pushing my heart to the edge of the envelope and just before I pass out, they inject a radioactive liquid into my veins, I felt like the like The Incredible Hulk!
I know I made jokes about my scare, but if you ever have doubts about a pain or anything to do with your cardio vascular system, DO NOT hesitate! Go to the ER and get it checked out! I just want to thank the wonderful Nurses, ER and Cardio Doctors, ambulance drivers and technicians that checked me out and put me at ease. Finally, I want to thank my wife Stephanie,(who is a Nurse) for kicking my ass to get me to the ER and having a bedside manner of a pit bull. Thank you and I love you. And thank you to my friends, your thoughts and your concern is very humbling.
I am fine, It was a scare, now I just have to enjoy a fine decaf instead damn it!
