In the last few minutes an interview with Matt Lauer and Sara Jane Moore has just concluded.
Does the name “Sara Jane Moore” ring a bell? It should, just over 30 years ago she tried to kill President Gerald Ford. That assignation attempt came just 2 weeks after Lynette ”Squeaky” Fromm had tried to do the same thing.
After 30 years in federal prison she is out on parole and living somewhere in America. I’m not going to get into the parole system, how people should be treated after an attempted presidential assignation, etc. Those arguments will be held by others.
My point in talking about her today is her face. Yep, her face. I was struck by the fact that an age that most are contemplating retirement, Sara Jane Moore is just beginning her life, at least life without bars. When I saw her face, I found it hard to believe she was the same person that squeezed the trigger, with murder in her heart.
30 years later, she is a grandmotherly type with a soft voice and passive eyes. Imagine what lies behind those eyes,
